Lizzie Rose Music Room presents The Outcrops

originally published: 10/07/2022

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Outcrops will perform at the Lizzie Rose Music Room on Saturday, November 19th. From the woods of Northern New Jersey, The Outcrops present original blues-infused rock’n’roll.  Showtime is 7:30pm.

The four-piece band was formed in 2016 by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Cassidy Rain and lead guitarist Bryan Schroeder. As a singer, Cassidy has been compared to Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi, but her raw sensibility as front person could as easily bring comparisons to blues legends like Howlin' Wolf or Muddy Waters.  Bryan’s playing falls somewhere between Duane Allman and Derek Trucks, as many fans have pointed out.  Bryan has also noted Jerry Garcia as a major influence.  His long flowing lead lines throughout songs intertwine with Cassidy’s vocal phrases to create a very melodic sound that sets the tone for The Outcrops. The rhythm section of the band includes Jason Casanovas on bass and Max Adler on drums. Both Max and Jason bring a funk and soul feel that melds  beautifully with Cassidy and Bryan, creating their band tag: Rock & Roll, Blues & Soul.

Tickets are $23 and available for purchase online. Lizzie Rose Music Room is located at 217 East Main Street in Tuckerton, New Jersey.  The venue is handicap accessible and offers free parking.

CASSIDY RAIN - LEAD VOCALS / RHYTHM GUITAR - Cassidy’s musical journey began before she can remember - she was singing and memorizing songs when she started talking. At the age of 5, her parents got her a tape recorder that she used constantly to record songs she heard and sang. By the time she was 10 years old, she had already started writing her own songs. At 14, she picked up the acoustic guitar and it became her fondest companion; she took it everywhere with her - to school, to the beach, everywhere. Her guitars have their share of knicks and bruises from their adventures.

BRYAN SCHROEDER - LEAD GUITAR / BACKUP VOCALS - Bryan’s journey in music began early as well, attending his Dad’s band’s shows from a very young age. There are photos of him and his cousin on stage with his Dad’s band, toy guitars in hand. However, Bryan’s first musical venture was in drumming, and he played drums for years before learning to play guitar. He began to really hone in on the guitar when he moved to California and was able to spend hours playing everyday.

JASON CASANOVAS - BASS / BACKUP VOCALS - Jason is an in-the-pocket player.  He is widely recognized for his infectious smile and the groove his bass and body create during live shows.  The audience can’t help but get up, smile and dance as Jason pours out the bottom end. He plays by instinct and with a natural feel that is undeniable.

MAX ADLER - DRUMS - Max rounds out The Outcrops rhythm section with a fluid groove that carries the band along like the ebbs and flows of a river.  Just like the great blues, soul and rock bands of the 60's and 70's, his style has a foundation in Jazz.  Max was a student of the Jazz program at Montclair State University in New Jersey and he uses his knowledge and skills to add flavors and dynamics, imprinting his style on the band's sound.

The Outcrops were named “Band of the Year” in 2020 in Makin Waves. The band just released their ‘Live Extended Play’ to Spotify, iTunes, & YouTube. The EP was only released in physical form before now, and includes the previously unreleased original blues song, ‘Colorblind’.
