The Art School at Old Church Hosts Online Workshop with Ceramic Artist S.C. Rolf

(DEMAREST, NJ) -- On Saturday, July 11 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, The Art School at Old Church is offering an opportunity to study with ceramic artist S.C. Rolf. In his online workshop “Functional Forms: The Bowl and the Jar,” Rolf will be working on the wheel to create bowls and jars in his unique style. He will demonstrate the points of creation in both the wet and leather-hard stages, as well as how to marry the functional and aesthetic aspects of a pot. This workshop will take place on ZOOM. After completing enrollment for the workshop, patrons will receive emails with ZOOM login details on the day of the workshop.

The Art School at Old Church has been bringing the arts to students in their homes throughout the Stay at Home period, with a wide array of online offerings through its Virtual Classroom. Now, in addition to these online offerings, The Art School has added limited-enrollment classes on site as it moves ahead with its Summer semester. Precautions and systems have been put in place to ensure that all In Studio offerings follow CDC guidelines in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Full information about all class and workshop offerings can be found via the links on campsite.bio/theartschoolnj.

The Summer 2020 semester began on Monday, June 22, with a large selection of art classes for children, teens, families, and adults, both online and in studio. Many classes begin the week of Monday, June 29, so there is still time to sign up! Subjects include painting, drawing, needle felting, ceramics, comic book design, and more.

BLAST! of Art Summer Camp is going virtual this year - same great classes, same great teachers! More information will be available soon at www.tasoc.org
