(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- The ACME Screening Room will show the documentary film Just Eat It on Friday, April 20 at 6:30pm.  In the documentary, filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. We all love food. As a society, we devour countless cooking shows, culinary magazines and foodie blogs. So how could we possibly be throwing nearly 50% of it in the trash? Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping and survive only on discarded food. What they find is truly shocking.

Ian Knauer (The Farm Cooking School) and Malaika Spencer (Roots to River Farm) will discuss why it is imperative for communities to decrease the amount of unnecessarily wasted food! They will explain why it is imperative for communities to decrease the amount of unnecessarily wasted food! They believe “ugly” vegetables are beautiful and see culinary potential in scraps. They’ll share how they found synchronicity between their businesses and offer some insight on how you can incorporate a few techniques into your daily life.

The film is about 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Admission to the film and Q&A is $15 for the genral public, Students $8 (Must Show ID).
