(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Celebrate Black History Month with the Ocean County Library and the Toms River Area NAACP, during a virtual production by the Bright Star Touring Theatre, beginning 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 27. Let It Shine: The American Civil Rights Movement 1955-68 introduces viewers to iconic events and people in the advancement of equal rights, including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Freedom Rides, Sit-Ins, the 1963 March on Washington, and more.
The North Carolina-based Bright Star Touring Theatre is completing its second full decade of serving schools and communities with historical, classic, literary and educational productions.
The dramatic and musical program, recommended for viewers from Grade 4 to adult, is sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean County Library and the Toms River Area NAACP.
Registration is required for this free virtual presentation. It will be available through March 13, and can be viewed multiple times. Viewers should register at www.theoceancountylibrary/events, then return beginning February 27 to receive the link.
