The Ocean County artist creates mixed media illustrations, caricatures, and collages inspired by everyday people, musicians, actors, and current events. His art has appeared in publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Boston Globe.
In addition, Mayo is the founder and guitarist of Marty and the Martians. The party band plays regularly in Manahawkin, on Long Beach Island, and other Jersey Shore venues.
An Ocean County Library interview with Mayo appears below, and also appears in the OCL Sound Waves podcast series on six Spotify platforms.
(MAPLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Strollers present the World Premiere of "Beethoven's Wrong Note: A Steampunk Opera" across two weekends (May 9-19, 2024). This is a light-hearted look behind the scenes as Beethoven attempts to write "the greatest opera yet written!"
