New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble To Perform The Nutcracker On Sunday

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble, a pre-professional training and performing company for young dancers based in downtown Summit, will host a free community story time event of their holiday production The Nutcracker at NJDTE Studios at 315B Springfield Ave in Summit on Sunday, November 18, at 4:00pm.

Open to all children in the Summit area ages 5-10, this free special event will feature the reading of excerpts of the classic Nutcracker tale by E.T.A. Hoffman. Chloe Muir and Peyton Gin will dance the lead role as Clara in a 45 minute excerpted version of NJDTE's The Nutcracker. After the performance, dancers will answer questions, sign autographs and take photos with the children in attendance.

NJDTE will return to the Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State University with its 49th Anniversary Season of the full-length production of The Nutcracker on December 8-9. Set to the classic music of Peter Tchaikovsky and choreographed by NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano, the ballet features over 60 talented pre-professional dancers from New Jersey alongside 12 renowned international guest artists.
