Music At Bunker Hill Presents A Festival of Strings Live Concert On May 22nd

(SEWELL, NJ) -- Music at Bunker Hill, in partnership with The Music Barn, presents A Festival of Strings on May 22 at 2:30pm at The Music Barn (5/23 Online at 2:30pm). This concert brings together the works of composers Johannes Brahms and Max Bruch, contemporaries and friends, and reunites alumni from The Perlman Music Program, who are thrilled to explore this beautiful segment of the Romantic Era repertoire.

This unusual program pairs Brahms' String Quintet in F major, a pillar of the repertoire, with Max Bruch's gorgeous but nearly forgotten String Quintet in E flat major. Performers include Doori Na and Michelle Ross, violins; Molly Carr and William Frampton, violas; and Jia Kim, cello.

Audience and performers have embraced the shift to an outdoor venue, even with the chilly weather for the Sybarite5 concert on May 8, which included a propane heater center stage. The performers mentioned their gratefulness for a return to live performance after 15 months. Audience members weighed in, too. “Thank you for a wonderful live show on Saturday. As much as I love the little church right around the corner from me, the sound at the Music Barn was fantastic, and Sybarite5 were amazing, such a wonderful concert. I am looking forward to the next show this month.” (NK, Sewell, NJ) “Loved the concert experience on Saturday. Cozy despite the weather and great, great music (so youthful and energetic!). Thanks, JD” (Hancocks Bridge, NJ).

The live concert is at The Music Barn, Gloucester County 4-H Fairgrounds, 275 NJ-77, Mullica Hill, NJ. COVID-19 guidelines specify social distancing and face coverings for all audience, artists, and staff. Handicapped parking is available in a gravel lot up the little hill beside ticket booth.

Seating is provided in a covered pavilion or bring-your-own-chair for lawn seating. Refreshments include on-site food trucks and Beer Garden by Center Square Tavern. Driving directions, concert information and ticket links can be found at www.musicatbunkerhill.org.
