(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Five new Children’s Theatre shows will appear at the Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey – The Magic of Sharks, Bubble Trouble, Harlem Wizards, Lasermania, and Beauty and the Beast. Three of the shows at the 11:00am performance will be sensory friendly (Magic of Sharks, Bubble Trouble, and Beauty and the Beast). Bubble Trouble will have Early Access for Families with Disabilities, beginning at 9:30am.
The Magic of Sharks - Tuesday, July 10, 11:00am * and 1:30pm; Magician Steve Woyce makes the magic happen with amazing shark facts in his high-energy show where he blends comedy, magic, storytelling, with a boat-load of audience participation.
Bubble Trouble - Wednesday, July 11, 11:00am and 1:30pm (Early Access for Families with Disabilities at 9:30am +); Jeff Boyer takes bubbles to the max in this one-man extravaganza. It’s the craziest, most creative bubble show around. Jeff juggles, sculpts, and builds with bubbles, makes fog-filled bubbles and more…he even puts a child in a bubble. This show will engage and delight audiences of all ages.
+ Families attending Early Access can enjoy the Morris Museum and a hands-on bubble activity before the show. When making reservations, mention “Accessibility” and receive a special combination price of $13.00 per person for Museum Admission, a bubble activity, and relaxed performance in the Bickford Theatre.
Harlem Wizards - Wednesday, July 18, 11:00am and 1:30pm; The basketball antics of this crazy team returns. Get ready for ooh’s, aah’s and serious laughter inspired by world class basketball tricks, fan participation, and of course, basketball wizardry.
Lasermania - Wednesday, August 1, 11:00am and 1:30pm; A perfect, rockin’ family event. A Bickford favorite returns with pure laser fun set to contemporary, pop/rock music that is guaranteed to bring the house down.
Beauty and the Beast - Thursday, August 2, 11:00am* and 1:30pm; Based on the original story by Madame Leprince De Beaumont, this production has all the magic and mystery that we have come to expect from this charming tale plus some new characters that add to the fun on stage.
To find the true love and heart of the Beast, the Beauty must see through his outward appearance. This story is presented by the Paper Moon Puppet Theatre of New Jersey.
*Sensory-Friendly performances are theater experiences in which the environment and typical “rules of attendance” have been relaxed to accommodate individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities and the families and professionals who support them. These performances are made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Morris Museum Access-ABILITY project.
Tickets for these shows can be purchased online or by calling the Box Office at 973.971.3706.
