George Wirth, a singer-songwriter and life-long resident of the New Jersey Shore, has released The Long Road Home. It follows two previously critically acclaimed albums: The Lights of Brigantine and The Last Good Kiss. Featured guest performers on those albums have included Janey Todd, Abbie Gardner and Grammy Award winner Amanda Shires.

The song "Townie", co-written with Rod Picott, was named the Makin Waves Song of The Week earlier in January 2021.
Wirth has played shows with Americana/Folk luminaries Mary Gauthier, Chris Smither, Greg Trooper, Red Molly, Rod Picott, Butch Hancock and Amanda Shires. His vivid portrayals of the human condition have won him numerous Asbury Park Music Award nominations including Best Album and Best Song. He was the winner of the 2010 AMA for Best Male Performer as well as the 2009 Jersey Acoustic Musicians award for Best Male Songwriter and Best Album.
Wirth’s song “Eisenhower Summer” was selected and published in the esteemed folk music periodical Sing Out! Magazine. He has performed at the New Jersey Folk Festival and the NJ Friends of Clearwater Festival in Asbury Park. His song “Old Dancing Fool” was recorded by folk notables Red Molly who released it on their “Love and Other Tragedies” album. He continues to write and perform regionally in and around Asbury Park.
