Book Talk at RVCC on December 3rd to Focus on Author’s Journey from Prison Cells to PhD

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will present a book talk with Dr. Stanley Andrisse, a nationally recognized endocrinology scientist, Friday, December 3rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The event, which is free of charge and open to the public, will be held in the Nash Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus. Masks are required in all RVCC facilities and social distancing will be observed.

Dr. Andrisse will speak about his newly published book, From Prison Cells to PhD: It is Never Too Late to Do Good. The captivating story depicts his journey from a formerly incarcerated person to a professor and researcher at Johns Hopkins Medicine and Howard University College of Medicine. He is the founder and director of a nonprofit program that provides mentoring and educational counseling to current and formerly incarcerated individuals.

A question-and-answer session with the speaker and a book signing will be held following the program. Copies of From Prison Cells to PhD: It is Never Too Late to Do Good will be available for purchase at a discounted price.

The book talk with Dr. Stanley Andrisse is made possible by support from the Returning & Incarcerated Student Education (RISE) program at Raritan Valley Community College.
