(MAHWAH, NJ) -- The Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College of NJ campus in Mahwah, seeks musicians, theater artists, dancers, filmmakers, and other performing artists to present new works-in-progress based on how the arts are contributing to healing in these challenging times. Healing can be from the perspective of individuals, groups, communities, or global impact.
Recognizing artists' unique ability to help us interpret the world around us, they encourage a wide range of perspectives including COVID-19 impact on the arts or our economy, contemporary struggles for social and racial justice, and the polarized political climate. The selected works will be part of a 2-day event entitled Healing Hands on Saturday, February 19, and Sunday, February 20, 2022 in the Sharp Theater on the Ramapo College of NJ campus.
Following the performances there will be a discussion of how artists create new work drawing on world events around them. Because scheduling will not be determined until fall 2021, artists must be available on both February 19 and 20, 2022.
The Deadline for Applications is July 29, 2021 at 4:00pm. Click here to apply. September 1, 2021: Artists will be notified if selected on September 1st and scheduling of performance times will take place in October.
