Submissions Now Open for the Premiere Stages 2019/2020 Liberty Live Commission

(UNION, NJ) -- Premiere Stages, the professional theatre in residence at Kean University, is now accepting submissions for the 2019/2020 Liberty Live Commission, a biennial commissioning program for New Jersey playwrights in partnership with Kean’s Liberty Hall Museum. Now in its fourth incarnation, Liberty Live culminates with a professional Equity production of a new play that celebrates New Jersey history. Past winners include Talking to Westfield by E.M. Lewis (2012), At Liberty Hall by James Christy (2013/2014), My Lord, What a Night by Deborah Brevoort (2015/2016) and Black Tom Island by Martin Casella (2017/2018), which will be fully produced this October.

Levoy Theatre Presents Travis Tritt

(MILLVILLE, NJ) -- The Levoy Theatre presents country music star Travis Tritt on Friday, July 6 at 8:00pm.  More than 27 years after Travis Tritt launched his music career, the Southern rock influenced artist continues to display strong sales activity, sell-out shows, and stay true and relevant to country music fans across the globe. Continuously performing shows and withholding a heavy appearance schedule, Tritt is proving to be unstoppable. Tickets range from $59 to $69.


Erik Mason Returns To The Jersey Shore For Three Shows Benefiting Three Non Profits

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) — Piano-based singer-songwriter Erik Mason returns to the Jersey Shore for three shows this summer.  Mason, raised in Brielle, will be performing at The Saint (June 21 at 10:00pm) and House of Independents (July 5 at 7:00pm) in Asbury Park, and at Beach Haus Brewery (August 17 at 7:00pm) in Belmar.  He is donating proceeds from these shows to three nonprofit organizations in the area: Monmouth County SPCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth and Middlesex Counties, and Foodstock NJ.


The 2018 New Jersey Uke Fest

(WHIPPANY, NJ) -- The Folk Project presents the 2018 New Jersey Uke Fest on August 24-25 at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey in Whippany and an outdoor Jam on the Morristown Green on Sunday, August 26.  This is the Folk Project's sixth annual ukulele festival, complete with everything you've come to expect from a uke fest: concerts, workshops, vendors, open mics, jams and more! Performers include Victoria Vox, Abe Lagrimas, Jr., Gracie Terzian, and The Aloha Boys and Alan Distajo, all of whom will also be presenting workshops. In addition Marc Dutton, Debi Velasco, Tyler St.Clare, Mihal Gross, Dave Kleiner and FiL Wisneski wil serve as additional workshop presenters.

Shooting At Art All Night In Trenton

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Like many of you, the staff at New Jersey Stage woke to the news that a horrible shooting occurred early Sunday morning (June 17) during Art All Night in Trenton. According to news reports, 20 people were wounded, including 17 from gunshots. One person thought to be one of the shooters was killed. Another suspect was taken into custody by the police.
