Luna Stage Presents 6th Annual New Moon Short Play Festival

(WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents its sixth annual New Moon Short Play Festival from May 21 to May 22.  The Festival provides two evenings of dramatic and comedic excellence via readings of 15 short plays by some of New Jersey's finest writers. These short plays and monologues were selected from over 60 submissions. And, for the first time, they will have a night focusing on plays written by high school students as well.  The high school night takes place on May 23rd.


John McEwen To Receive Robert J. Smythe Award For Outstanding Professional Fundraiser

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- John McEwen, Executive Director of New Jersey Theatre Alliance will receive The Robert J. Smythe Award for Outstanding Professional Fundraiser from the New Jersey chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-NJ) on June 14th, 2018, at Pines Manor in Edison.


Eagle Theatre Presents The Last Five Years

(HAMMONTON, NJ) -- Gorgeous melodies and a tender love story take center stage in Eagle Theatre’s upcoming production of Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years, from June 1 through July 1st, 2018. Winner of the 2002 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music and Lyrics, The Last 5 Years tells the story of two individuals who fall in love-and out of it again-over the course of a five year relationship. The production stars Max Meyers and Jenna Pastuszek.

ON THE ROAD: Alice In Chains at Lunatic Luau18 In Virginia Beach

Lunatic Luau18 took place Saturday, May 5th at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach, VA.  The festival included performances by Alice in Chains, Stone Sour, Stone Temple Pilots, Bullet For My Valentine, Sevendust, and Tremonti on the Main Stage, and Steel Panther, Popevil, The Sword, Unlocking The Truth, and RVNT on the Side Stage.  Photographer Mischa Linares was on hand to cover the event.  Here are photos of Alice in Chains from the festival.


Willie Nile's Birthday Bash To Take Place At House Of Independents

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- No stranger to the Jersey Shore, Willie Nile returns to Asbury Park on Saturday, June 9 for a Rock 'N Roll Birthday Bash at House of Independents. He will be supported by local favorites Colossal Street Jam.  Doors are at 7:00pm. Tickets range from $30 to $60.


Celebrate A Night On Broadway with Doreen Taylor

(SEWELL, NJ) -- Celebrate A Night on Broadway with Billboard Top 100 singer/songwriter Doreen Taylor as she hosts her largest bash to date at Proof Productions in Sewell on Wednesday, July 25th from 7:30pm to 11:00pm.  Admission is free with complimentary food by gourmet chef Geoff Johnson, complimentary beer and wine. There will be a DJ, dancing, special celebrity guests, giveaways and a live performance by Taylor.

Bickford Film Series Concludes First Season with Van Gogh Documentary

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Morris Museum’s new Bickford Film Series concludes its first season with director David Bickerstaff’s biography “Vincent Van Gogh: A New Way of Seeing” on Wednesday, May 23, at 7:30pm. Produced by the critically acclaimed Exhibition on Screen, this fascinating documentary not only tells the story of the artist’s life, it also draws on iconic artwork in the celebrated Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

New Jersey Artists Are "Navigating Elements" at Rowan University Art Gallery

No doubt you remember the state marketing slogan “New Jersey and You – Perfect Together.” In many ways, I think that is an apt description of the partnering of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Rowan University Art Gallery for the 2018 Arts Annual Exhibition “Navigating Elements,” on view at the Art Gallery through July 28.


MCCC Gallery Hosts Mercer County Artists 2018 From May 21 to July 9

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) --  The talents of 21 Mercer County artists will be on display at the Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) in "Mercer County Artists 2018," which runs from Monday, May 21 to Monday, July 9. The show features 28 works in a variety of media including oil, acrylic, graphite, mixed media, ceramic, wood and more. Eighty-eight artists submitted work for the jurying process.

TEDxAsbury Park To Take Place On May 19th

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- TEDxAsburyPark "Passion" will take place at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park on Saturday, May 19th. Speakers from across the country will perform for an audience of 1500, and will include a supermodel-turned-feminist advocate, elite dancers and choreographers, explorers, a marathon runner, business leaders, an LGBTQ pioneer, a “comic book man,” and more.
