Centenary's Young Performers Workshop Accepting Applications For 2018 Summer Session

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company’s education program brings two summer acting programs to Hackettstown- the Young Performers Workshop and the TYRO Acting Program. The critically acclaimed Young Performers Workshop will be holding Summer Session interviews by appointment on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3. 


Theatreworks USA and Two Beans Productions Presents ‘Cat in the Hat’ at MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- From the moment his oversized, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that they are in for an adventure like no other. Young audiences will delight in “The Cat in the Hat,” to be presented by Theatreworks USA/Two Beans Productions at Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre Saturday, June 2 at 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college’s West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.


Dr. Penelope Lattimer Honored For Arts Advocacy at George Street Playhouse Annual Gala Benefit

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse’s Annual Gala Benefit, held Sunday, May 6, at the Heldrich in downton New Brunswick, saw GSP Board President Dr. Penelope Lattimer honored with the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award. The black-tie event also celebrated the work of renowned playwright and friend of the Playhouse, the late Arthur Laurents, who would have turned 100 this year, with performances of songs from West Side Story, Gypsy, La Cage aux Folles, and his other Broadway hits.

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Harry Connick, Jr. performs at Mayo Performing Arts Center for two shows,  Monday-Tuesday, June 18-19 at 8:00pm. Tickets range from $79-$199.


The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Travis Feaster featuring Doug Henthorn

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Travis Feaster featuring Doug Henthorn on Friday, May 18th at 7:30pm. Both are blues performers from Indiana.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

NJPAC Presents Jo Koy

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents stand-up sensation Jo Koy on Thursday, September 13 at 8:00pm and Friday, September 14 at 7:00pm.  Koy, a regular on Netflix, Comedy Central, and The Adam Carolla Show, makes his NJPAC debut with his hilarious Break the Mold Tour. Tickets range from $39 - $59.

Visual Arts Center of New Jersey to Receive $20,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the NEA’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $20,000 to the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey for the exhibition Kevin Sampson: Fruit of the Poisonous Tree. The Art Works category is the NEA’s largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts.
