Kean Stage Presents "Broadway’s Next H!t Musical"

(UNION, NJ) -- If you've ever wanted to help create a Broadway-style musical, now is your chance because Broadway’s Next H!t Musical is coming to Kean Stage in Union on Friday, March 23. In this fully improvised show, the troupe gathers silly song suggestions from audience members. Four finalists are chosen, and the cast members perform them as if they are scenes from a pre-existing musical. Then the audience votes for their favorite. The winning song is turned into a full-blown musical right before your eyes, complete with memorable characters, witty dialogue and plot twists galore.


NJ Rep Presents World Premiere of Chloe Hung's "Issei, He Say, (Or the Myth of the First)"

(LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company will present the World Premiere of Chloé Hung’s Issei, He Say, (Or the Myth of the First) April 19 through May 20, 2018. Winner of an Edgerton New Play award, Issei, He Say will be directed by Lisa James and stars Stan Egi as Mr. Yamamoto, Kathleen Kwan as Mrs. Chu, Fenton Li as Mr. Chu, and Christina Liang as Lucy Chu.

ArtJam - Pop Up Art Gallery Runs In April

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- ArtJam is back! Once again, HomeFront’s ArtJam, a fun and funky pop up art gallery, will feature professional artists, undiscovered artists who have experienced homelessness, and the community at large in a celebration of creativity. It all starts Friday, April 13, when a storefront on Palmer Square in Princeton will be transformed into a display of talent. Now in its ninth year, ArtJam has grown to over 100 participating artists, including Judith Brodsky, Jon Sarkin and Cynthia Groya. Works from these well-known artists will be displayed alongside the works of HomeFront clients who have limited means but enormous talents.


Bickford Theatre Presents Jerry Vezza and Grover Kemble

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Pianist Jerry Vezza and singer/songwriter Grover Kemble celebrate their more than 25 years of musical partnership with a concert they are calling “Tales and Tunes Together.” This engaging duo has shared many musical experiences which they will showcase, joined by bassist Rick Crane, drummer Tom Sayek, and saxophonist Anton Denner. The concert takes place at the Bickford Theatre on Thursday, April 5 at 7:30pm.


State Theatre NJ presents Patti LaBelle

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Grammy® Award-winning artist Patti LaBelle on Sunday, April 8 at 7:00pm. Known for her powerhouse vocals and electrifying live performances, LaBelle’s hits include “If Only You Knew,” “When You Talk About Love,” “New Attitude,” “Stir It Up,” “Lady Marmalade,” and “Somebody Loves You Baby.”  Tickets range from $45-$125.

Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band Celebrates Women in Jazz On Wednesday

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band Celebrates Women in Jazz this month with guest composer Ann Belmont, and resident composers Barbara Cifelli and Diane Moser on Wednesday, March 21 at Trumpets Jazz Club in Montclair.  They will perform sets at 8:00pm and 10:00pm.  Admission is $20.

Write/LA Screenwriting Competition To Launch March 23

LA Screenwriter, a leading online resource for working and aspiring screenwriters, and LiveRead/LA, a screenwriting event series, workshop, and consultation service, have partnered to launch a new international screenwriting competition, Write/LA. The inaugural Write/LA competition will open for entries on March 23, 2018, with Tim Schildberger—owner of LiveRead/LA, co-founder of Write/LA, and a writer with thirty years of experience—serving as Head Judge.


Christopher Lloyd To Attend Garden State Film Festival And Receive "Beacon Award"

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The 16th Annual Garden State Film Festival will welcome award-winning veteran actor Christopher Lloyd for the East Coast debut of his new feature film "Making A Killing," a twisted modern-day crime mystery, based on a true story. The film is scheduled to screen on Saturday March 24th from 8:00pm-10:00pm at the Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove, after which Mr. Lloyd will be presented with GSFF's "Beacon Award."

Brigantine Art Walk To Return For 3rd Year

(BRIGANTINE, NJ) — The Brigantine Art Walk will return for its third season with four events taking place this summer on Saturdays. Three of the events will be held at the Brigantine City Ball Field and the fourth event will be at the far end of Brigantine at the seawall across from Pirates Den.
