(GLEN RIDGE, NJ) -- The CIANJ (Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey) and Commerce Magazine held its’ first annual Enterprising Women in Commerce Awards reception on August 18, 2021 at Glen Ridge Country Club in Glen Ridge, NJ. Joetta Clark Diggs, rebranded now simply as “Joetta” and touted as an Olympian record-setter, was awarded amongst New Jersey’s leading female entrepreneurs and business executives.
The kickoff signature event for the CIANJ celebrates women who are excelling in their respective industries including accounting, engineering, financial, healthcare, education, international trade and non-profit sectors, the latter of which the New Jersey Hall of Famer and founder of Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation, received an award.

Women are the ultimate multi-taskers, so of course we would use our education, experience and innate skills to excel in business. Kudos to the CIANJ for taking the time to recognize all of these high-achieving women and including me amongst them.” stated four-time Olympian, Author, Motivator and Entrepreneur, Joetta.
In August’s President’s View of Commerce, CIANJ President, Anthony Russo explains, “CIANJ and Commerce magazine’s fist annual Enterprising Women in Commerce Awards celebrate women who are achieving great things in their respective industries. These women inspire and encourage others daily and are leaving their mark in their chosen profession.”
CIANJ, The Garden State’s business advocacy organization, received nearly 60 nominations for this newly established honor. Fifteen leading business women were recognized as award recipients and all nominees, along with industry winners and event keynote speaker, Lina Bowden are highlighted in this month’s Commerce.
Joetta received an Enterprising Women in Commerce Award in the Nonprofit category for her dedication to promoting fitness and academic excellence in youth and helping them become the champion of their lives.
To help give back to her community, the New Jersey-native established the Joetta Clark Diggs' Sports Foundation. The Foundation is committed to teaching good health and positive work ethics associated with participation in sports for girls and boys in grades K-12. The Determined to Reach Your Destiny (D2RYD) Speed, Agility & Track Camp is a well-attended program funded by the non-profit and attracts participants from the tri-state area who are introduced to training and support from fellow Olympians and scholastic trainers in the industry.
