The 10th Annual Big Man's Bash will take place on Saturday, January 9 starting at 2:30pm. The event will take place virtually this year due to the pandemic with performances seen on the Facebook Page for Big Man's Management. It will be a night of music, memories and fun all to remember "The Big Man" himself. Admission is free, but 100% of all donations made online will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County.
Artists scheduled to perform include The Nick Clemons Band, P.K. Lavengood, Joe Sweeney, Peter Naughton, Red Eye Express, Dr. Lou & The Southern Privileged Few, Kevin McGowan, Asylum Choir, Gary Frost, Wayne Olivieri, The New Bardots, Jason Didner, Ernie White featuring the Quarantine Horns, Ronnie Brooks, Frank Manzi, Killer Joe, John Atkins & Funcle, Elaine Orzechowski, Jim Ferrante, House of Guenther, Ashley Marquez, Gino Formaroli, John Allegue, Mike Post & The Powertones, Bobby Macleod, Tom Lucas, Shotgun Bill Anania, Joseph Beggy (live from Ireland), Bryan Cooper, Mindy Schleifer, and Paul Kwiecien.
The event, hosted by Gino Formaroli and Nick Clemons, will include never before seen images of Clarence Clemons and video of his last intimate performance.
Clarence Clemons, known to the world as "The Big Man," passed away in June 2011. This concert is held annually each year in remembrance of his birthday on January 11th. Best known for being a major part of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Clemons was also on songs by Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, Gary U.S. Bonds, and many more. As an actor, he appeared in films like New York, New York and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. He also had appearances on numerous television shows.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County is open to all children ages 5 1⁄2 – 18. Their after-school program runs weekdays from 2:30pm-6:00pm, with snacks and dinner being served to every member. Their teen program operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in Asbury Park from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
