(RAHWAY, NJ) -- Arts Guild New Jersey is holding an open house in their building at 1670 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ on Sunday, May 15th, 2016 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Admission is Free. Light refreshments will be served.
Arts Guild New Jersey, which opened to the public in January 1999, is a non-profit Center for the Arts in the Downtown Rahway Arts District. If you haven’t yet made a visit to the Arts Guild, this fun, family-oriented day is a great opportunity to view their latest Art Exhibit, learn about their art classes and meet some of the people who have provided quality arts events to the north and central Jersey region residents for seventeen years.
Events scheduled for the open house include a free sculpture project that children can join. Working with Arts Guild instructor, Sam Vega, children will complete an original sculpture during the one hour session. For teens and adults, we have a Printmaking project: for $10, visitors will work with Master Printmaker Eileen Foti to ink a linoleum block which is being prepared by South Plainfield artist, Leonard Merlo. After inking the plate, participants will run it through our printing press to create and keep an original print. Nick Mockoviak, an instructor at Arts Guild NJ, will do a free demonstration of cartooning open to kids and teens.
Tickets will be sold for a 50-50 Raffle. There will also be a Silent Auction in which you can bid on a professionally photographed Family Portrait Session donated to the Guild by Cranford Photographer, Joel Simpson valued at $475.
