Ocean County Library’s “Dive into YA” Virtual Series To Feature Katie Zhao On August 12th

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Fans of the contemporary mythic novels Dragon Warrior and The Fallen Hero can enjoy a virtual chat with creator Katie Zhao in the Ocean County Library’s “Dive Into YA: It’s Not Just for Teens” series on Thursday, August 12 at 6:00pm. The discussion series aims to show how real issues, vivid writing, diverse characters and imaginative concepts propel Young Adult literature beyond traditional age categories.

The Michigan native’s newest thriller, How We Fall Apart, is scheduled for publication August 17.  It will be followed quickly by Last Gamer Standing, which has a September 21 publication date. She is also undertaking a new children’s series “Winnie Zeng.”

Of Chinese-American heritage, Ms. Zhao describes herself as an ardent advocate for representation in literature and media.

The series is presented in partnership with Booktowne, Manasquan, NJ. Attendees will receive a 10% discount for Booktowne that can be used through their website.
