Wellmont Theater Hosts Belated Birthday Party For Bruce Featuring Brian Kirk & The Jirks

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- At 70, New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen, aka “The Boss,” remains atop the music world. The Wellmont Theater will throw a belated birthday party featuring Brian Kirk & The Jirks and special guests on Thursday, December 5th at 8:00pm.

New Jersey rockers Brian Kirk & The Jirks will present an evening dedicated to Springsteen, alongside a cavalcade of ’Jersey Shore favorites. They will celebrate this milestone birthday for the state’s “native son” using a title borrowed from two of the musician’s best-known anthems, “Born.” The show promises to be a festive night of rock that expands and salutes the rocker’s catalog.

The evening will feature timeless hits like “Thunder Road,” “I’m On Fire,” “Spirits In The Night,” “Rosalita” and “Because The Night,” among others. The Jirks’ front man, Brian Kirk, says: “I went from asking my sister who the ‘strange man with the earring’ was on her poster, to learning ‘Thunder Road’ and playing his songs on the guitar – and performing them in front of crowds. It’s quite an honor to celebrate The Boss, and I’m thankful for it.”

Formed in the early 1990s, Brian Kirk & The Jirks are a premium nine-piece band specializing in interactive, high-energy music. The band’s front man has been gaining fans with his hilarious antics and infectious personality. With an endless song list, the band prides itself on packing the dance floor and creating unforgettable musical moments.

The “star” of the night, Springsteen, turned 70 this past September and remains one of New Jersey’s most celebrated musicians. This year also marked the release of his first new studio album of solo material since 2012, “Western Stars,” which was accompanied by a feature-length documentary of the same name – marking Springsteen’s directorial debut. The album reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200. The rock icon is also spending the latter part of 2019 planning new music with the E Street Band.
