Don’t miss the NJPAC debut of this comic mastermind, whose hysterical, high-energy physical storytelling has already earned comparison with legends like Robin Williams and Eddie Murphy.
Born and raised in a working-class Chicago neighborhood, Sebastian Maniscalco’s riotous material is often filtered through the Old World Italian lens of his extended family. Currently starring in Why Would You Do That?, his third acclaimed, one-man special on Showtime, Maniscalco was recently named 2016’s Just for Laughs Stand-Up Comedian of the Year.
“Only once in a while comes a comic like Sebastian Maniscalco, who treats the stage like a dance floor,“ raves The New York Times. “Mr. Maniscalco’s act-outs are broad and over the top, but they are also refined, turning goofiness into its own kind of panache … (he) would be funny even if you couldn’t hear what he was saying!”
Early in his career, Maniscalco drew the attention of actor Vince Vaughn, who cast him in Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show. Since then, Maniscalco’s unique brand of comic skepticism has taken him to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Conan, in addition to his own Pete and Sebastian Show podcast every Friday night. More recently, Maniscalco has been featured on Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee as well as in a slew of upcoming feature films including The House, in which he appears alongside Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler.
