(NEWARK, NJ) -- On March 29, 2017, model-turned-actor Tobias Truvillion will take on a new role: Celebrity Host of the 2017 Newark Arts Honors Award Ceremony and Gala at the Avenue A Club in Newark, New Jersey. Newark Arts Honors celebrates artists that have made significant contributions both in their field and to the Newark community, while representing diverse creative communities and cultures. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Women in Media-Newark will present an innovative art exhibit entitled “Women in the World: A Visual Perspective” at three separate locations. Rutgers University-Newark’s Paul Robeson Art Galleries,; Monmouth University’s Pollak Gallery, and New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s (NJPAC) Victoria Lobby will each host a special segment of the exhibit. This art exhibition is presented as a part of “Women In the World,” Women In Media – Newark’s eighth annual Women’s History Month Film Festival that will take place from March 28 – April 6 at venues throughout the state.... (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Sandy Bennett Art Gallery at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey hosts Seen & Heard, an exhibition by NJ-based artist and art educator Kate Griffin. The art exhibit is in residence at The Sandy Bennett Art Gallery on the 2nd floor of bergenPAC from March 2-30, 2017. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Montclair Art Museum's Chief Curator Gail Stavitsky and artist Jeff Kahm will engage in a lively dialogue pertaining to cultural exchanges between modern and contemporary American and Native American artists from the early twentieth century to the present on Thursday, March 30 at 7:30pm. (ELIZABETH, NJ) -- The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is presenting an exhibit of paintings by Mary Kooi of Summit in the gallery space at the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, located in the historic St. John’s Parsonage at 633 Pearl Street in Elizabeth. A selection of her work entitled “County Clare to Cuenca” is on display at the Pearl Street Gallery through March 31. The public is invited to enjoy the exhibit during regular gallery hours, 8:30am to 4:30pm weekdays.... READ ON

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Wine, nibbles, live jazz, conversation and visual art … For the second year, Women’s History Month was launched at NJPAC with a creative mixer that drew nearly a hundred arts lovers to the Victoria Theater lobby. On view through March 31, Women in the World: A Visual Perspective, an exhibit of multi-media works by 14 women artists, was the centerpiece of the kick-off reception. Presented by Women in Media-Newark in partnership with NJPAC’s Department of Community Engagement, the three-pronged exhibition includes displays at Monmouth University and the Paul Robeson Galleries at Rutgers-Newark, as well as NJPAC....
