World Class Israeli Violinist Tal First Comes to SOPAC as part of the Juilliard at; SOPAC Series

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Tal First is an Israeli violinist making his mark as a young virtuoso. SOPAC is proud to present this rising young musician on Sunday, December 3 at 3:00pm. Now studying at the famed Juilliard conservatory in New York, his many awards and achievements led to support from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, among others.  The program will include Mozart’s Sonata in G Major, k. 301, Jan Friedlin’s Suite first part, Bloch’s Nigun, Kreisler’s Recitativo and Scherzo and Grieg’s Sonata in C minor, Op. 45. His accompanying pianist is Natalie Nedvetsky.

Tal First began his violin studies with Mr. Geri Ferber at the age of 6. He continued his studies with Ms. Svetlana Simannovsky at the Thelma Yellin School of Arts. After graduating high school, Tal studied with Ms. Simannovsky at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv as a recipient of an Israel Philharmonic Orchestra Scholarship and during his Army service as an “Outstanding Musician.”

Tal First plays on a violin made by Gaetano Pollastri, generously loaned to him by Mr. Yehuda Zisapel. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $15 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at (973) 313-2787.

SOPAC programs are made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

SOPAC is located at One SOPAC Way in South Orange, New Jersey.
