West Windsor Art Council Presents "The Natural Muse"

(PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ) -- Connection to and inspiration from nature are the focus at West Windsor Art Council’s annual member exhibit, The Natural Muse.  Juror Joy Kreves selected 32 art works from local artists out of over 85 submissions.  The exhibit runs March 19–May 6, 2017 at the West Windsor Art Center Gallery.

Kreves received her BFA and MS from Illinois State University and currently works as a mixed media artist exploring the connections between language, psychology and landscape.  She exhibits her artwork extensively throughout NJ, NY, PA and Illinois. Kreves is a member of several artist groups including Animal Architects, which will have an exhibition this spring at the Monmouth Museum, NJ.

New this year, the West Windsor Arts Council awarded prizes for 3 works of art that exemplify standards of excellence. Selected by the juror, they include:

The Natural Muse is on display March 19–May 6, 2017 at the West Windsor Art Center Gallery at 952 Alexander Road, Princeton Junction, NJ. Gallery Hours: Monday through Friday, 10 am-6 pm; Saturdays, 10 am-4 pm.  An opening reception with the artists will be held Sunday, March 19, 4 pm-6 pm. Artists will be on hand at the opening to discuss their work. Please visit www.westwindsorarts.org for more information.

A related WWAC event "Craving Nature - the Feast" created by juror Joy Kreves is set for May 6, 2017. The WWAC will host a dinner party immersed in a natural environment with a menu that visually replicates nature.  More info to be released at a later date.
