Theme Park Style Seating Brings Neverland To Life At Eagle Theatre

(HAMMONTON, NJ) -- Looks like they've done it again! Never content to simply present a play, The Eagle Theatre believes in presenting and "experience" and that is exactly what they have in store for the audience when they see Peter & the Starcatcher.  Presented by Eagle, from May 12 through June 11, the show utilizes newly installed theme park style seating to give select audiences the opportunity to sail through the Neverland they never knew in this grown-up’s prequel to Peter Pan.  The show features a dozen performers portraying more than 100 outlandish characters using the limitless possibilities of imagination.

Peter & the Starcatcher is the Tony Award winning musical-play that follows a starcatcher-in-training, as she meets an orphan boy longing for a home. Together they embark on the journey of a lifetime. Meet a young Peter Pan, the original lost boys, Captain Hook before the hook, and a cast full of all-stars, as they create a swashbuckling production that will enchant, energize, and excite audiences of all ages.

Co-Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III states “This unique adventure deserved a twist. We are excited for our audience to experience an immersive environment that will allow them not only to explore Neverland, but call it home, if only for a little while.”

The cast includes: Boy/Peter: Adam Hoyak; Black Stache: Tim Rinehart; Prentiss: Griffin Stanton-Ameisen; Bill Slank/Hawking Clam: David Nikolas; Molly Aster: Katrina Michaels; Lord Leonard Aster: Jared Delaney; Ted: Shamus Hunter McCarty; Alf: Shaun Yates; Smee: Ernie Jewell; Mrs. Bumbrake: Jonathan Fink; Captain Robert Falcon Scott: Peter Smith; and Gremkin/Sanchez/Fighting Prawn: Sam Nagel.

The Eagle Theatre, located at 208 Vine Street in Hammonton, is South Jersey’s only year-round Professional Equity Theatre, is dedicated to redefining regional theatre. The theatre produces more than 160 live performances each year, including full-scale Broadway caliber World Premieres and re-conceptualized revivals; New Works Development Series play readings; a traveling Theatre for Youth Audiences program, specializing in providing arts education to schools in under served communities; an Annual Fringe Festival, a 3-day street fair and theatrical marathon, featuring multiple eclectic productions, a beer and wine garden, pop-up art, food, live music, and street performers; and Eagle Theatre Conservatory, a year-round tuition based theatrical institute for all ages and levels of professionalism.

This award-winning culturally diverse epicenter boasts state of the art technical equipment, a free double parking lot, Sharrott Winery’s on-site Wine Lounge, and is located within walking distance of several boutiques and acclaimed dining destinations in beautifully revitalized Downtown Hammonton, serving patrons from New Jersey, Philadelphia, and beyond.

Eagle Theatre originally opened its doors in 1914 as a silent movie theatre. The theatre was restored in 2009 to serve as a performing arts center. Since the reopening, Eagle Theatre has quickly grown into a nationally recognized non-profit producing organization.
