originally published: 04/10/2017

Storm Large with Le Bonheur To Celebrate American Songbook at SOPAC(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Storm Large, along with her band Le Bonheur, returns to the stage at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on May 5 at 8:00pm to enchant audiences with Stormy Love, her singular renditions of American songbook classics. Known for her passionate vocal interpretations and her sizzling stage presence, you will be “taken by Storm” as you experience this sublime and unique performer. After her performance, she will sit down for an interview in the Loft with NY1’s Budd Mishkin.

Storm spent the 1990s singing in clubs throughout the San Francisco area, and then a move to Portland brought her growing success as a musician and actress. In 2007, she starred in Portland Center Stage’s production of Cabaret with Wade McCollum. Four years later Storm made her debut as a guest vocalist with international band Pink Martini, singing four sold out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. In the past decade her career has been a tumultuous whirlwind of various orchestras, theater houses, and sold out crowds. Now she is on the road with her band Le Bonheur to perform Stormy Love, a show that features a collection of tortured and thrilling love songs from the American Songbook.

Conversations in the Loft with Budd Mishkin will make its debut immediately following Storm’s performance. Audiences will have the opportunity to get to know Storm Large in the intimate atmosphere of the SOPAC Loft. Her life story is colorful, and in addition to performances with her band and Pink Martini she is working on a theater project with the Public Theatre in New York City.

Budd Mishkin is an anchor and reporter for NY1, New York City’s 24-hour cable channel. He hosts NY1’s weekly profile series, One on 1 with Budd Mishkin. He has interviewed countless artists and luminaries of national and international prominence and is also a long-time resident of South Orange, NJ.

Storm Large and Le Bonheur will play the South Orange Performing Arts Center on May 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $28 and available online or by calling the box office at (973)-313-2787.
