(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- The Axelrod Performing Arts Center (APAC) presents Remember Jones in Concert on Thursday, August 24, at 8:00pm. Having performed to sold-out houses for the past two summers at APAC, Remember Jones remains a favorite on Jersey Shore stages. Called a “Soul sensation” by the Asbury Park Press, the singer received the Asbury Park Music Award’s Top Vocalist in 2016. APAC produced Remember Jones’s tribute Jeff Buckley’s “Grace” album last summer at the House of Independents in Asbury Park.
This past July 4th weekend Remember Jones and his band raised the roof on the roof of the Asbury Hotel, introducing songs from his second album “Tranquilizer.” Last weekend, Remember Jones made his debut at the Highline Ballroom in New York City with his recreation of Joe Cocker’s “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” concert, first seen at APAC in 2015.
APAC’s concert features vocals by Remember Jones, backed by a 15-piece band, playing tunes from both albums as well as some classic soul renditions.
Artistic Director Andrew DePrisco says that the epic “Mr. Jones” has an “open invitation at the Axelrod…every time the guy walks out on a stage it is an event. No other performer connects with his audience the way Remember Jones does. He makes the audience feel so glad they got in the door to be a part of his show. And, like the greatest performers, he gives it all over and over.”
Remember Jones is “so excited to be back at the Axelrod” and considers his concerts at APAC to be “some of my favorite nights of every year.”
Later this year, Remember Jones will be returning to APAC for a three-week engagement, playing the title character in a fully staged version of “Jekyll & Hyde,” directed by Paul Stancato, whose credits include the recent national tour.
