(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Come one come all to Tropicana Atlantic City to see Nik Wallenda’s Zirkus II, a thrilling variety show starring celebrated wire walker Nik Wallenda and an international troupe of circus performers. Combining suspense, amazement and laughter, each show will close with a recreation of the death-defying bicycle pyramid on the high-wire made famous by the Wallenda family. Nik Wallenda’s Zirkus II will enthrall family audiences playing select dates beginning July 9 through September 4, 2017 in the Tropicana Showroom.
“This show features the best of the best from the circus world,” said Nik Wallenda, a seventh generation member of the legendary Wallenda family. Known worldwide for his incredible feats upon the high wire, Nik is the holder of 10 World Records. He was the first person to walk a wire across the Grand Canyon and is the only person to walk directly over the precipice of Niagara Falls. Last year Nik’s wife Erendira broke her first world record right here in Atlantic City while hanging under a helicopter over 150’ above the boardwalk.
“Nik Wallenda’s Zirkus II is the perfect addition to all the summer fun and exciting entertainment events happening here at the Tropicana,” said Steve Callender, General Manager of Tropicana Atlantic City. “Summer visitors of all ages will love the thrilling adventure the performers of the Zirkus II will take you on.”
The Name - Zirkus is circus in German, a nod to Nik Wallenda’s heritage, which he can trace back to the 1780’s in Germany.
The Troupe - Nik Wallenda’s Zirkus II will leave audiences gasping with acts that range from elegant routines on the Chandelier to astonishing feats of courage and strength, on the sway-poles. Starring alongside Nik Wallenda are: his wife and aerialist Erendira Vazquez Wallenda; Roman Ring artist Khera Lorraine Smith; 8th generation hula hoop sensation Lianna Ashton, chair balance artist Dieter Galambos; and acclaimed performers Blake Wallenda, Alec Bryant, Zebulon “Zeb” Fricke, and Nicholas “Nick” Slimick.
Giuliano and Fabio Anastasini are 9th generation performers who continue their family’s tradition in the Icarian circus arts with their remarkable risley act. They literally juggle each-other on their feet! Back by popular demand is comic relief Al Calienes and his beloved comic character “Remarkable Renaldo.” Nik Wallenda’s Zirkus is hosted by ringmaster Ty McFarlan, who spent four years as the 34th ringmaster for Ringling Bros.
The Big Finale - At the close of each show, Nik and his troupe recreate the bicycle chair pyramid, a heart-pounding act made famous by Nik’s grandfather, Karl Wallenda. The pyramid involves three people, all strung together on a wire high above the ground while riding bicycles. At the pinnacle of the pyramid, one member of the troupe stands on a chair.
This incredible troupe of international performers is guaranteed to impress, excite, and entertain audiences from ages 1 to 101.
