(RED BANK, NJ) -- Joy Bauer, the New York Times #1 best-selling author, world-renowned nutritionist and star of NBC’s Today show and Health + Happiness, has announced an event titled “Yummy Yoga” for Sunday afternoon, October 13th at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, Red Bank. Tickets start at $25. The event begins at 2:00pm.

Joy is also a monthly columnist for Woman’s Day magazine, the official nutritionist for the New York City Ballet, and a #1 New York Times bestselling author with 13 best-selling books to her credit.
Her latest book, Joy’s Simple Food Remedies, explores the healing power of food and features natural, holistic remedies for the most common every day ailments, including bloating, headaches, anxiety and stress, low energy, brain fog and high cholesterol.
The Basie event gets its title from Bauer’s newest and upcoming children’s book. Yummy Yoga hits stands on October 8th and communicates one of Joy’s true passions — encouraging young kids to try healthy new foods and energizing exercise in a playful and engaging format.
“I’m very excited to be presenting at the legendary Count Basie Center in beautiful Red Bank, New Jersey—and to be amongst such an energetic and passionate, health-minded crowd,” said Bauer. “Wellness is such an important topic, and it’s never too early or too late to start the discussion. I feel so fortunate to be part of this life-changing conversation.”
In the earlier part of her career, Joy was the Director of Nutrition and Fitness for the Department of Pediatric Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, as well as the clinical dietitian for their neurosurgical team. One of Joy’s most rewarding experiences was creating and implementing “Heart Smart Kids,” a health program for underprivileged children living in Harlem. Prior to making the jump to media, she taught Anatomy & Physiology and Sports Nutrition at NYU’s School of Continuing Education, as she worked to build what would soon become the largest private nutrition center in the country.
She is also continuously featured in prominent publications including The New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, People, US Weekly, Parade, etc.
Joy Bauer’s appearance at the Basie Center is sponsored by Open Heart Yoga of Red Bank.
