(MOUNT LAUREL, NJ) -- By Deception is the tenth movie for Chris Cardillo, New Jersey native and Executive Producer. Cardillo has worked in the movie industry as an actor, writer, and producer. He made his movie debut with The Grievance Group (2014) where he performed acting, writing, and Executive Producer, duties.
Suffering from a severe mental block, David Harrison (played by Marquis Valdez) must battle on two fronts. With looming deadlines Harrison begins thinking there is a murderer in his life. By Deception is a psychological suspense thriller with a decidedly dark edge.
"I feel that By Deception is our most realized film yet," said Cardillo, the movie's Executive Producer. “We have a fantastic mix of professionals from all walks of life involved. Diversity was key in creating a believable film world like you will see in By Deception.”
Adio Ash, By Deception director, is known for Rabbit in the Taillights. Samuel C. Morrison Jr., co-Executive Producer, has written for hip-hop magazine “The Source.” Morrison also has a history working with Cardillo on other projects including music and films.
The film also features Instagram influencer sensation, Daniella Salvi, who takes on the character Eli for her acting debut. “When I first read the script, I finished it in one sitting. It was beautifully written and suspenseful, giving me Gone Girl and Get Out thriller vibes. Acting is my true passion and playing Eli as my first role was exciting,” Salvi continued. “She is an outspoken, confident young woman who has a smart mouth with no filter. It was fun and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to be a part of By Deception.”
By Deception completed filming in Sicklerville, New Jersey in early 2020. All on set work was completed with the utmost respect to health recommendations regarding Covid-19. Cast and crew were secluded on location until filming was completed. The production company operated optimally to comply with state regulations.
Currently By Deception is in post-production and will release in early 2021. This is a short delay over the original release date and is unavoidable. The health of all staff is the utmost importance.
“My next goal is to direct. My history in film and television has given me a solid foundation to build off. Directing is a natural next step in this process and I am excited to take it.” Cardillo continued, “I can’t reveal much right now, but my next project will be a full feature with Samuel (Morrison) writing.
