BergenPAC presents Sergio Mendes & Bebel Gilberto: The 60th Anniversary of Bossa Nova
(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Bergen Performing Arts Center (BergenPAC) will present Sergio Mendes & Bebel Gilberto: The 60th Anniversary of Bossa Nova on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 7:30pm. Brazilian pianist Sergio Mendes has made his mark in the music industry for over five decades with his bossa nova-tinged jazz. World renowned and multi-Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Bebel Gilberto has been enchanting fans worldwide since her solo debut in 1986. Tickets range from $29 to $99.
Kean Stage Presents ARTrageous
(UNION, NJ) -- ARTrageous, a group that more than lives up to its name, will perform at Kean Stage’s Wilkins Theatre on Sunday, October 20 at 3:00pm and a special performance on Monday, October 21 at 10:30am for school time audiences.
MPAC Presents Sir James Galway
(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Living Legend of the flute, Sir James Galway, returns to Mayo Performing Arts Center on Sunday, October 20 at 3:00pm. Also performing are Lady Jeanne Galway on flute and Michael McHale on piano. Tickets range from $39-$79.
Audiences Love "The Ghost Train" at Centenary
(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Critics and audiences are raving over Centenary Stage Company’s production of Arnold Ridley’s The Ghost Train which continues its run now through October 20 in the Lackland Performing Arts Center. First produced in 1925 and filmed no less than three times, The Ghost Train was a long running success in London and on Broadway. In Maine, near the Canadian border, there’s a legend of a phantom locomotive sweeping through a peaceful village, leaving death in its wake. Despite a psychic station master’s weird stories of a ghost train, the six stranded passengers decide to say the night.
Keyboardist David Braham Leads Jam Session At New Jersey Jazz Society October Social
(MADISON, NJ) --- On Sunday, October 20, organist/pianist David Braham will lead an "old fashioned jam session/open mic" at the New Jersey Jazz Society's monthly Jazz Social at Shanghai Jazz in Madison, NJ. Joining Braham in the house band will be guitarist Mark Strickland and drummer Diego Lopez.
Westminster Community Orchestra Presents "Halloween - Trick or Treat!" on October 20
(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Westminster Community Orchestra, conducted by Ruth Ochs and Sergey Tkachenko, will present a concert titled “Halloween -Trick or Treat!” on Sunday, October 20 at 3:00pm in the Robert L. Annis Playhouse on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J. This fun, family-oriented program will feature sometimes sweet, sometimes slightly scary, music for the Halloween season.
