"My Dinner With Alan: A Sopranos Session" To Be Screened At Garden State Film Festival
(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The 17th Annual Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) has added a fifth day to the festival this year and is presenting a special screening of the East Coast Premiere of My Dinner With Alan: A Sopranos Session. Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone will serve as host for the evening, which takes place on Wednesday, March 27th at 7:00pm at the Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove.
RVCC Sets Comedy Show, Dinner to Benefit SAFE in Hunterdon
(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The public is invited to attend a dinner and comedy show at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) featuring HBO’s Def Comedy Jam comedian Alex Babbitt, Wednesday, March 27 from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The program, which is appropriate for mature audiences ages 18 and older, will be held in the Bateman Center, 2nd floor, at the College’s Branchburg campus.
Rowan Hosts Soprano Jessica Gould and lutenist Nigel North In Guest Recital
(GLASSBORO, NJ) -- Soprano Jessica Gould and lutenist Nigel North share the stage for a guest artist recital presented by the College of Performing Arts at Rowan University on March 27 at 8:00pm in Boyd Recital Hall on the Glassboro campus. Gould and North’s program, entitled Chiaroscuro: Music from the Dawn of the Seicento, includes sacred and secular works by Giulio Caccini, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Vincenzo Galilei, Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger, Tarquinio Merula, Alessandro Piccinini, Luigi Rossi, Giovanni Felice Sances, Barbara Strozzi, and others from the early 17th century.
Newark Academy Gears Up For National High School Jazz Band Competition with Intensive Workshop
(LIVINGSTON, NJ) -- On Wednesday, March 27, Newark Academy, one of the 15 national finalists competing in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 24th Annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival, will participate in a jazz workshop hosted by celebrated musician Steve Fidyk, a jazz drummer, composer and author. Fidyk will conduct a four-hour workshop to mentor students and the band’s director in preparation for their performance in the Essentially Ellington competition this May. The event takes place from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.
