Dover Little Theatre Junior Players To Hold Auditions For "Through The Looking Glass"Rockaway Junior Players, a theater group for young actors lead by Reesa Jenkins, finds a new home in the Town of Dover just in time for Mayor James P. Dodd’s “Year of the Youth” initiative. The group will now be known as Dover Little Theatre’s Junior Players. Dover Little Theatre has partnered with Dover’s Recreation Department to bring children’s theater to the youth of Dover. Young people will be given the opportunity to learn the many facets of Community Theater from performance to backstage.

As part of Mayor Dodd’s “Year of the Youth” initiative Dover Little Theatre and DLT’s Junior Players are planning events throughout the year to involve the youth of Dover in creative and artistic endeavors. During the Year of the Youth the town will focus on developing new programs, activities and events geared toward empowering, enriching and supporting the lives of its children.

Dover Little Theatre and Junior Players will be partnering with Dover to schedule more theatrical events; like a summer theater program, a fall visual arts event and a Holiday performance with Adult and Junior actors.

The Dover Little Theatre Junior Players first production will be “Through the Looking Glass” a musical version of Alice in Wonderland adapted by James DeVita with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur. Auditions for young actors, age 8 through 16 are Sunday, February 12th at 5:00 PM and Tuesday, February 14th at 6:00 PM at 69 Elliott St. Dover, NJ. Young people interested in participating back stage should also sign up during auditions. Performances will be the second weekend in April.
