Centenary Stage Company Opens Enrollment For Fall 2017 Dance Conservatory Courses

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- The professional Centenary Stage Company (CSC) is accepting enrollment into their Dance Conservatory courses for the 2017 fall semester. With professional instructors and schedules fit for working adults and teens, these programs are suitable for amateurs and professionals. The Conservatory of Dance provides the community with affordable, high-quality dance classes and is designed to introduce dancers to professionals who are currently working as choreographers, dancers and educators in dance and theatre at a collegiate level. Classes will run from September 5 – December 18. 

Classes include Ballet I (Mon. 4PM – 5:10PM), Ballet II (Mon. 5:30PM – 6:40PM), Modern I - II (Tues. 5:30PM-6:40PM), Tap I (Tues. 3PM – 4PM) and Tap II (Tues. 4:10PM – 5:30PM). Classes are appropriate for ages 14 and up.  Class prices are $130.00 for 1 class per week, $195.00 for 2 classes per week, and $275.00 for 3 classes per week. Registration deadline is August 25.  YPW students receive a 50% discount on ALL classes.  Tuition is non-refundable.

Lea Antolini – Lid (Program Coordinator) serves as the Conservatory Program Coordinator and Professor of Dance / Theatre at Centenary University.   Antolini-Lid received her BMA in classical voice and musical theatre from the University of the Arts, an MFA from Brandeis University, and is a Certified Yoga Instructor.  Some of her more recent professional performance credits include The Last Five YearsThe Fantasticks! (Women’s Theater of NJ), Mary Poppins,Peter PanOliver!A Christmas Carol, and The Wizard of Oz (Centenary Stage Company).  Atolini – Lid is a company member of Blessed Unrest Theater Company in NYC, a movement based Theater Company dedicated to generating and developing new works and Director of XY Dance Project, a not-for-profit NJ dance company. 

Erin Usawicz (Ballet I and II) received her training with Jose Mateo and Mary McKenzie-Thompson as a scholarship student at Ballet Theatre of Boston’s (now called Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theater) Young Dancer’s Program. She served as the company’s apprentice and then advanced to a corps de ballet member.  Other training included work with Finis Jhung at Broadway Dance Center in New York City as well as with Allegra Kent, famed Balanchine – era ballerina.  Erin studied fashion design at Pratt Institute and photography at Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of the Arts where she earned a BFA with high honors.

Maureen Glennon – Clayton (Modern I and II) is a dancer, choreographer and dance educator.  Her choreography has been presented extensively throughout the tri – state area including BUMBO Dance Festival, Cool Wave NY Dance Festival, Gershwin Hotel, Merce Cunningham Studio, Wax Works/University Settlement House, NJ Arts Collaborative/George Street Playhouse & Crossroads Theatre, Hactch Series/Jennifer Muller the Works Studio, The Field/Performance Zone, Soundance at the Barn, Cathedral Arts Festival, Mix It Up Festival, American College Dance Festivals, National High School Dance Festivals, County College of Morris, Montclair State University, Mason Gross at Rutgers University, Centenary University and at A Taste in Nicosia, Cyprus.  She is also the founder of Moe – tion Dance Theater.

Jeff Foote (Tap I and II) has been tap dancing for 11 years.  He is a member of the NJ Tap Ensemble under the direction of Deborah Mitchell.  Jeff has studied with tap greats such as Omar Edwards, Ted Levy, Dewitt Flemming, Jr., Karen Calloway Williams, and Savion Glover.  Jeff’s dynamic personality and talent enables him to motivate and encourage his students.
