Internet radio station and music website BlowUpRadio.com, Where NJ Rock Lives, continues its annual Banding Together: Benefit For The Spondylitis Association of America this fall, once again bringing together some of the best local indie musicians from around the Garden State. The station has lined up several concerts, will hold a live webathon, and has a new digital compilation available for a donation.
This year’s Banding Together will kick off with a webathon, with over 30 live performances broadcast live on BlowUpRadio.com October 18th through 20th. The benefit festivities continues into November with two benefit concerts - Pino’s in Highland Park on November 2, and Espresso Joe’s in Keyport on November 9. All money raised from the concerts and donations during the webathon, will go directly to the Spondylitis Association Of America (SAA) to fund research and provide the programs and services the spondylitis community has come to rely on.
Spondylitis is a genetic rheumatoid arthritic condition that causes inflammation and fusion in the vertebrae of the spine. To date, BlowUpRadio.com has raised over ten thousand dollars for the cause, and raised awareness of the genetic disease, which the Centers For Disease Control says affects more than 2.7 million adults in the US.
"This is a very personal benefit for me as my wife, Naomi, suffers from ankylosing spondylitis (AS).", says Lazlo, the founder of BlowUpRadio.com and the organizer of Banding Together, "I have seen the debilitating effects of this disease and the chronic pain and discomfort it causes."
