A Don Rickles and Regis Philbin Laughfest: Stories, Film Clips and Fun

Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 7:00pm

Comedy icons Don Rickles and Regis Philbin have been friends for over half a century. Don’t miss these two world-class funny men go head to head as the two share hilarious stories about their remarkable careers!

The Master of Insults. Mr. Warmth. These were just a few of the labels given to actor and comedian Don Rickles, who in the course of a decades-long career on stage, film and television came to define the tone and persona of the insult comic. But despite his withering barrage of put-downs, Rickles remained a favorite of celebrities and audiences alike, thanks to both an unflaggingly quick wit and a genuine affection for his targets. Those qualities where always on display in one form or another, but never so hilariously than when he was a regular fixture on the celebrity roast circuit in the 1960s and 1970s.

Music of The Knights: Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney starring Kelli Rabke, Scott Coulter and more!

Friday, October 14, 2016 at 8:00pm

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney have much in common: they are all British-born, they all have an Academy Award, they all have multiple Grammy Awards and they are all knights. They also happen to be three of the most successful songwriters of all time with careers that span decades. “Music of the Knights” honors their lasting musical influence with songs like "Memory," "I Don't Know How to Love Him," "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Circle of Life," "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," "Your Song," "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," "Yesterday,” “Hey Jude” and many more! Relive the music of their lives with this crowd-pleasing celebration of music royalty.

Kelli Rabke Agresta grew up in West Orange, NJ, and had her “big break” playing the role of Dorothy in Paper Mill Playhouse’s acclaimed production of The Wizard of Oz. Shortly thereafter, Andrew Lloyd Webber himself selected her to play the lead role of the Narrator in the Broadway revival of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (US Cast Recording). Following that, she played her dream role: Eponine in Les Miserables on Broadway. She went on to perform in regional theatres around the country – Goodspeed Opera House and Ford’s Theatre to name a couple – in such roles as Mabel in Mack and Mabel, Christine in Phantom, and back to Paper Mill Playhouse in Stephen Schwartz’s Children of Eden as Yonah (American Premiere Recording). Kelli has been seen and heard in countless TV commercials and voice-overs, and was the voice of several animated characters, including Kat in the Discovery Kids series Kenny The Shark. She also played the recurring role of Bernadette on The Young and the Restless.

Scott Coulter is one of New York's most honored vocalists. Scott has received five MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs), five Bistro Awards and two Nightlife Awards for Outstanding Vocalist and has performed at most of NYC's top rooms including Birdland, 54 Below, The Oak Room at the Algonquin, and Feinstein's at The Regency where he spent a record-setting eight months performing the revue Numbers which he also co-created, directed and musically arranged. His self-titled debut CD won the 2003 MAC Award for Outstanding Recording.

From its record breaking, award winning run in the heart of Broadway, Jake Ehrenreich comes to bergenpac with this newly minted version of his hit comedy musical A Jew Grows in Brooklyn. The New York Times hails “Brooklyn is beautiful, touching and funny – like Billy Crystals 700 Sundays” and New York Magazine raves “Poignant and hilarious – haimish wisdom with a modern sensibility”.

From the streets of Brooklyn and struggle with his family’s survivor past, to the laughter and rebirth of a Catskills nightclub - with music, humor and multi-media – Jake Ehrenreich mesmerizingly recreates his unforgettable journey - now made more famous in his critically acclaimed bestselling book by the Chicken Soup for the Soul publishers.

Directed by NY theater veteran Jon Huberth, The LA Times declares “Ehrenreich’s insight is engaging, elegant and thoughtful” and Broadway World raves “Run, don’t walk. One of the most uplifting evenings one can spend in the theater.” The Miami Herald offers “somewhere two loving parents are kvelling over the son who did them proud.”

The Monkees-Good Times: The 50th Anniversary Tour

Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 7:30pm

Hey, hey it’s The Monkees, featuring Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork, playing all of your favorite hits that made The Monkees one of the most popular bands of the 1960s.  When four young men were cast in the TV roles of a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night, few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would make on music and pop culture at large, an impact that still reverberates 50 years later.

Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 8:00pm

The Capitol Steps have been a Washington, DC institution for over thirty years, providing a unique blend of musical and political comedy to our Nation’s Capitol and more.  Each show consists of tasteful lampooning guaranteed to leave both sides of the political spectrum laughing. The troupe started in 1981, when John McCain was only 63 years old!  Since then, they have appeared on “The Today Show,” “Nightline,” “CBS Evening News” and for many years in specials for National Public Radio.

Their show is constantly changing, strenuously bi-partisan, and includes songs about the election madness, as well as other things in the news, such as “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Crimea,” “Ain’t No Pipeline, Now It’s Gone,” and “The iMpossible iWatch.”

If you’ve ever wanted to see Hillary Clinton sing a show tune, Donald Trump sing a rock song, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie do a classical ballet, this might just be the show for you!

So Good For The Soul! A Tribute To The Music of Motown

Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 8:00pm

So Good for the Soul is a non-stop, high energy trip down memory lane performed by a cast of 8 veteran entertainers and their band, including former members of The Jones, Main Ingredient, & The Marvelettes peppered with Broadway savvy performers who had leading roles in “Dream Girls”, “Your Arms Too Short to Box With God”, “Porgy & Bess” and “Showboat”.

This amazing show features the songs America grew up with.  Great attention to detail was paid by musical director Gary Kupper (who created hit Broadway family show, “Freckleface Strawberry”).  The iconic Motown Sound was recreated down to the slightest vocal and musical nuances – to emulate American icons like Marvin Gaye & Tammie Terrell, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Lionel Richie, Mary Wells, and more.  The look & feel of authenticity extends to costumes from Tony Award winning designer Evie Ross and classic Motown choreography from American Dance Theater director Terri Giordano.

Tickets available at: www.ticketmaster.com or Box Office (201) 227-1030

bergenPAC is located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, NJ.
