State Theatre Presents "Fiddler On The Roof"

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents the musical Fiddler on the Roof for four performances from December 20-22. A beloved theatrical classic from Tony(R) winner Joseph Stein and Pulitzer Prize-winners Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, this Tony(R) Award-nominated production is directed by Tony(R) Award-winner Bartlett Sher (To Kill a Mockingbird, South Pacific, The King and I) and choreographed by the acclaimed Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter.


Lewis Center for the Arts presents "Echoes in Glass"

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Theater at Princeton University will present Echoes in Glass, an interactive cycle of stories, poems, and songs written and directed by Princeton senior Alexandra Palocz that follows the tale of two sisters, a child, a bargain, and a bag of salt. Performances will be December 8 at 2:00pm and December 9 and 10 at 8:00pm in the CoLab at the Lewis Arts complex on the Princeton campus. The show is free and open to the public; no tickets are required.


Wharton Players Present "Elf Jr."

(BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ) -- The newly-formed Wharton Players present Elf Jr. with live accompaniment from December 6-8 at the Performing Arts School (60 Locust Avenue) in Berkeley Heights. Based on the cherished New Line Cinema hit, Elf Jr. features songs by Tony Award-nominees, Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, with a book by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin.


Theater to Go at Kelsey Theatre presents "Cabaret"

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Theater To Go will present the Kander and Ebb classic musical CABARET at the Kelsey Theatre weekends from January 31, 2020 to February 9, 2020. Winner of three Outer Circle Critic

Makin Waves Record of the Week: self-titled by Black Light Medusa

All hail, Jenny Cat, an extremely talented singer-songwriter and guitarist who has been slugging it out in the local scene for a while, both solo and in bands. She’s finally getting her due with the excellent female punk trio Black Light Medusa, an all-star outfit also featuring drummer Kat DaVille of Tight Lipped and The Muffs and bassist Cathy Berg of Devil’s Bubble Gum and The Infamous Lost Cause.


New Jersey Youth Symphony Presents Two Nutcrackers

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS) presents a rare side-by-side concert of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite performed by the NJYS Youth Symphony alongside Duke Ellington’s jazz rendition performed by the NJYS Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, December 8 at 3:00pm at the Union County Performing Arts Center (1601 Irving Street in Rahway). 


Newton Theatre Adds Second Show For A John Denver Christmas Special

(NEWTON, NJ) --  The heartwarming holiday show A John Denver Christmas Special has become an annual tradition at The Newton Theatre and, due to popular demand, a second show has been added on Saturday, December 14, 2019.  Performances will take place at 3:00pm and 7:00pm. 


Telegraph Hill Records To Release Annual Playlist With Release Party at The Wonder Bar

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Telegraph Hill Records will release its annual compilation playlist on December 27th, 2019. The playlist consists of brand new singles from many different artists in and around Asbury Park.  Featuring unique tracks from 16+ artists, it’s a must-stream for any local music supporter. Maroon 5 To Perform In Camden

(CAMDEN, NJ) -- Three-time GRAMMY(R) Award winning multiplatinum band Maroon 5 have announced dates for their upcoming 2020 U.S. tour. These upcoming tour dates mark the biggest U.S. shows of the band’s career, with the group playing iconic venues such as at Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, Citi Field and Banc of California Stadium. The band’s multi-country tour will kick off on May 30th at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, CA. The tour comes to the BB&T Pavilion in Camden on Thursday, September 3rd. Meghan Trainor will be a supporting artist throughout the tour.

10 Hairy Legs To Mount Three World Premiere Commissions In 2020

(HIGHLAND PARK, NJ) -- 10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, continues its aggressive commitment to the commissioning of new works and gains first-time rights to perform Brian Brooks’ solo I’m Going to Explode, now totaling 14 World Premiere Commissioned Works since our founding in 2012. Three of the four works will debut at the company’s New York Season June 27-29 at New York Live Arts; the fourth dèbuting in New York following its World Premiere at Ocean County College’s Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts on April 18, 2020. OCC Commissioned the work with support from the Louis Prima Foundation.

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- On December 4, 2019, Free Press, in collaboration with coLAB Arts and United Way of Northern New Jersey, launched 37 Voices, a New Jersey initiative featuring stories of economic insecurity from the region.

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- JCFamilies’ 8th Annual Holiday Party will take place on Saturday, December 7.  The festivities start at 11:00am at the Harborside Atrium in Jersey City and will go on until 2:00pm.
