"A Night With Janis Joplin" Comes To MPAC

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) --  The Tony(R) Award-nominated Broadway musical A Night With Janis Joplin rocks Mayo Performing Arts Center on Thursday, September 19 at 8:00pm. The musical is created, written and directed by Randy Johnson. Tickets range from $39-$79.


Mile Square Theatre presents Dominique Morisseau's drama "Pipeline"

(HOBOKEN, NJ) -- Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County’s leading professional theatre, presents Dominique Morisseau’s searing drama Pipeline.  In the play, a mother’s hopes for her son clash with an educational system rigged against him. With profound compassion and lyricism, Pipeline brings an urgent conversation powerfully to the fore. Issues of class, race, parenting, and education in America come to the surface as we are left to question the structures that ultimately trap underserved communities.


Centenary Stage Company To Hold Auditions For "The Ghost Train"

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company the professional not-for-profit theatre company in residency on the campus of Centenary University will be holding AEA auditions for the upcoming main stage production of The Ghost Train by Arnold Ridley. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 4 from 10:30am to 7:30pm. Auditions will be held in the Edith Kutz Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center located on the campus of Centenary University at 715 Grand Ave.  Auditions are by appointment and interested performers must call the Centenary Stage Company box office at (908) 979 – 0900 to schedule. Walk – ups will be seen on a first come first serve basis as time permits.

The Newton Theatre Presents Keb' Mo's Jingle Bell Jamboree

(NEWTON, NJ) -- This year Keb’ Mo’ is celebrating his 25th Anniversary year of performing under the moniker, with the release of two albums, Oklahoma (June 14) and Moonlight, Mistletoe, And You (Oct. 11), Keb’s first ever holiday album released throughout his lengthy and successful career. This fall, Keb’ Mo’ will embark on a holiday tour, Jingle Bell Jamboree, which will feature the four-time Grammy-award winning contemporary Blues and Americana artist performing songs off of Moonlight, Mistletoe, And You.  The Jamboree comes to The Newton Theatre on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 7:30pm.


Princeton Symphony Orchestra and McCarter Theatre Center Announce Princeton Pops

​​​​​​​(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) and McCarter Theatre Center announce the start of a new collaboration to co-produce an inaugural series of performances combining elements of the theater with the power of live music. Heralded as Princeton Pops, the three-show series opens Friday, November 8 with a concert featuring superstar Sutton Foster. Following in 2020 are a staged reading of the delightfully funny new musical The Big Time and a concert devoted to The Art of the Movie Score conducted by Rossen Milanov, the PSO’s Edward T. Cone Music Director. All performances take place at McCarter’s Matthews Theatre.


Arlo Guthrie To Perform at The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park and at NJPAC in Newark

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Folk music icon Arlo Guthrie brings his Alice's Restaurant tour back to New Jersey thanks to popular demand.  The tour, along with Sarah Lee Guthrie, comes to the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park on Saturday, September 28th and New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Sunday, September 29th.


RVCC to Present Musical Festival, Community Day in September

​​​​​​​(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Local music aficionados will be treated to plenty of guitar picking, acoustic blues playing, country tunes singing, chatting about songwriting—and much more—when the Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College presents Aiken & Friends Fest, North Branch, September 26-28.

Eric D'Alessandro to Return to iPlay America for His Largest Show Yet

​​​​​​​(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- Social Media sensation Eric D’Alessandro will return to iPlay America on Friday, November 1st to perform a hilarious comedy routine. The event will be held in the Event Center at iPlay America in Freehold, New Jersey following his sold-out show last spring.  Doors are at 6:00pm, showtime is 7:30pm.

2nd Annual Just Be You Performing Arts Youth Film Festival

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- A free film festival for kids and teens is coming to Rahway, New Jersey. The 2ndAnnual Just Be You Performing Arts Youth Film Festival takes places on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at the Rahway Public Library. From 12:00pm to 6:00pm in the library’s auditorium room. This is an independent event by Just Be You Performing Arts. The festival features a diverse collection of short-films created by youth filmmakers plus an awards ceremony with live performances.

Hudson County Community College's "Pow(h)er" Exhibition Celebrates The Women's Rights Movement

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Department of Cultural Affairs begins its Fall 2019 season with “Pow(h)er” -- an all-women, contemporary exhibition honors the women’s equality movement. The exhibition also marks the beginning of the College’s year-long programming celebrating the Women’s Suffrage movement and 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, which guarantees and protects women’s constitutional right to vote.  It is on display now through Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the College's Dineen Hull Gallery.
