Cape May stage Presents "The Gin Game"

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The Gin Game by D.L. Coburn is presented by Cape May Stage from August 10 through September 22.  Performances take place Tuesday through Sunday at 8:00pm.  Directed by Roy Steinberg, The Gin Game tells the story of Fonsia Dorsey, a woman in her twilight years now residing in a retirement home.

A Red Orchid Theatre To Present Sam Shepard's "Simpatico" At McCarter

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Buried secrets, blackmail, and false identities race onto the stage in this hard-driving tragicomedy about the slippery netherworld of thoroughbred racing from Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatist Sam Shepard. When a simple phone call causes Carter and Vinnie’s shady past to resurface, fierce loyalties that were once hot-blooded begin to run astray. McCarter Theatre kicks off its 2017-2018 theatre season with a collaboration with the acclaimed Chicago ensemble A Red Orchid Theatre Simpatico to bring the riveting American drama, Simpatico, to Princeton. Featuring Oscar and Tony nominee Michael Shannon with members of A Red Orchid Theatre’s ensemble, performances are scheduled to run September 8 to October 15.


Montclair Orchestra To Debut In October

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Montclair Orchestra will make its debut performance on October 22 at St Luke's Episcopal Church in Montclair. In this inaugural concert, Music Director David Chan will introduce the audience to his roots at the Metropolitan Opera, presenting a program inspired by opera and song. Internationally acclaimed soprano Ying Fang joins the orchestra for the finale to Mahler's pastoral Symphony #4. The night features an extraordinary program that includes Verdi's powerful overture from La Forza del Destino, Mozart's melodic Symphony No. 29 leading up to Fang's finale.

"We were on the road since May 23, I just got home yesterday," said a relaxed John Corabi of The Dead Daisies as he elaborated on the next leg of their tour and an upcoming August 16 show at Asbury Park, NJ venue House of Independents. "We've got some time off, it feels a bit weird (laughs)."

Black Dog To Perform Led Zeppelin Hits At Union County Summer Arts Festival

(CLARK, NJ) -- The Union County Summer Arts Festival Concert Series continues at Oak Ridge Park in Clark on Wednesday August 16, with a performance by Black Dog - a Led Zeppelin tribute band. Show time is scheduled for 7:30pm.  The show is free, and visitors are urged to pack a picnic basket, bring lawn chairs or blankets. Refreshments and snacks will also be available from Café Gallo and the Good Humor Man. 

An Evening With John Popper and Friends Coming To UCPAC

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- A man of 14 harmonicas and the voice behind the 1995 Blues Traveler hit “Run-Around,” John Popper is coming to Rahway for An Evening with John Popper and Friends on September 30, 2017 at the Union County Performing Arts Center’s Main Stage. With a style of music typically defined as soul, blues rock, psychedelic rock and southern rock, Popper aims to write songs that speak to shared human experiences and emotions. Appearing as a solo act in his biggest solo tour to date and accompanied by pianist Ben Wilson, he’ll be crooning to 1,334 seats starting at 8:00pm. His set list will include his own music, classic Blues Traveler hits and a selection of well-known covers.

State Theatre New Jersey presents Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 8:00pm. The group will perform songs from their recent album Call It What It Is, as well as their hits. Tickets range from $45-$85.
