(HILLSBOROUGH, NJ) -- The lineup for the 2017 Sourland Music Festival will feature five Jersey favorites: The John Ginty Band, Russell Norkevitch, JD Malone & The Experts, Lisa Bouchelle and Tom Tallitsch. The festival takes place on Saturday, June 17 at The Polo Field, Hillsborough Golf & Country Club in Hillsborough, NJ.
The John Ginty Band -- John Ginty has literally covered a lot of ground. Fresh off playing Hammond B-3 for the Dixie Chicks on their MMXVI World Tour, Ginty and his band went immediately into the studio to record the Billboard Top 10 Blues album "Rockers", followed by an east coast US Tour. Ginty has spent years as a successful sideman, playing keys with legendary artists such as Citizen Cope, Santana, Jewel, Charlie Mars and many more. John was also a founding member of Robert Randolph & the Family Band, where he received two Grammy nominations.
Russell Norkevitch -- With soulful vocals and 88 keys, New Jersey Songwriter, Russell Norkevich, offers his own brand of piano driven song. His musical influences include: Elton John, Nina Simone, Rufus Wainwright and the Beatles. Evan Toth of WFDU 89.1 describes Russell’s music as having “a hazy, nostalgic, dreamy quality that is devoid of time or space: Eltonesque.”
JD Malone & The Experts -- J.D Malone and The Experts will be showcasing songs from the 2016 release “ Town and Country “ as well as favorites from 2011’s “ Avalon “ and 2014’s “ Astor’s Pet Horse“. The Experts will are : Avery Coffee on guitar, Jim Miades on bass, Tommy Geddes on drums and Nate Gonzalez on keys. Lisa Bouchelle -- Lisa Bouchelle has sung backup for Bruce Springsteen, dueted with Jon Bon Jovi, and done national tours and/or opened for Blues Traveler, Meat Loaf, Bryan Adams, Ted Nugent, Train, Ingrid Michaelson, and many others. Her releases have reached #1 on two indie charts, and #4 on the college charts. Her new release, "Lipstick Tomboy," has received airplay on stations such WXPN in Philadelphia, KSCN in LA, and on Little Steven's Underground Garage on SiriusXM. She has been compared to artists such as Sheryl Crow and Jason Mraz.
Tom Tallitsch -- Tom Tallitsch is a saxophonist, composer, and Posi-Tone Records artist. He has seven albums to his name and has on the Jazzweek Radio Chart top 30 with his last three albums. His bands tour jazz venues throughout the country, with regular performances on the east coast at Birdland Jazz Club, Smalls Jazz Club, Minton's Harlem, The Sidedoor Jazz Club, 55 Bar, Bar Next Door, Chris' Jazz Cafe, Paris Jazz Bistro, and others.
Besides all that fine music there will be local food and snack vendors, special brews from Flounder Brewery of Hillsborough and a fine selection of wines from Unionville Winery of Ringoes.
