Simon Townshend To Rock Asbury Park

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Simon Townshend, the younger brother of The Who's Pete Townshend, will perform at Tim McLoone's Supper Club in Asbury Park on Thursday, March 17.  Doors are at 6:00pm and the show begins at 8:00pm.  Tickets range from $20 to $30.

Simon has been a full-time member of The Who for 20 years, ever since 1996's Quadrophenia Tour. He's also a singer-songwriter of his own who released his first solo album at the age of 17.  He's released 7 solo albums in total, including 2014's Denial.  His live solo shows and music have been described as "Supercharged” (New York Times), "Irresistible" (Washington Post) and "Cathartic" (LA Times). Simon has also performed/recorded with such rock luminaries as Jeff Beck, Pearl Jam and Dave Grohl.

His history with The Who began when he was just 9 years old and sang on the Tommy album.  He later appeared in the movie. Currently on "The Who Turns 50 Tour," his performance in Asbury Park comes in between the band's shows in Pittsburgh and Newark.

"We learned about Simon Townshend because of his brothers band, but we stayed because the songs are great and the performance is engaging," said No Depression Magazine.

Tim McLoone's Supper Club is located at 1200 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ.  For more information visit www.timmcloonessupperclub.com
