(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre presents guitar virtuoso Benise in Strings of Passion on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 8pm. Benise and cast return to the State Theatre with a brand new 10th anniversary tour. Tickets range from $35 to $75.
Guitar expert Benise and his Emmy® Award winning World Music and Dance Production returns with a new PBS Special and tour! Strings of Passion features classic rock anthems brilliantly fused with fiery Spanish guitar and Spanish dance. Backed by a stage full of musicians and dancers, Strings of Passion captures world music at its best, a show that appeals to the hearts and souls of people of all ages, cultures, and musical backgrounds. Benise’s Strings of Passion tour showcases classic songs from Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and The Eagles.. Benise’s love of both Spanish guitar and rock brings a fierce intensity to these new interpretations of his favorite classic anthems.
Strings of Passion is an unprecedented and spectacular adventure through Spanish Flamenco, Cuban Salsa, and Brazilian Samba that raises the standards of live performance to a fresh new level of originality with dancing that is equally mysterious, sensual, and festive. The dancers in the Strings of Passion tour, also known as “The Gitanas,” were carefully handpicked from a global pool of some of the most brilliantly diverse talent to be found. Breathtaking couture fashion and innovative staging and choreography give Spanish dance a fresh and luminous makeover.
