(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- A production of Milan Stitt's The Runner Stumbles is now in full swing at the Morris Museum's Bickford Theatre. Starring professional actors from New Jersey and Drew University students, the story is a courtroom drama, a whodunit, and a treatise on the acceptance and rejection of faith. The Runner Stumbles is playing through this Sunday, February 14.
The Morris Museum's production of The Runner Stumbles has been receiving critical acclaim. New Jersey Footlights says that the play is a "superior thriller with top notch cast." New Jersey Arts Maven calls the acting "superb."
Set in 1911 and based on a true events, The Runner Stumbles centers on a young nun who has died under mysterious circumstances and the pastor who has been charged with her murder. With alternating action between interrogations, testimony and scenes from the past, the secrets and taboos of their relationship come to a head, as a feverish struggle ensues against the tides of passion, faith and justice.
