(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Over 40 films will have their New Jersey or Area Premiere (Middlesex County) screenings during the New Jersey Film Festival Spring 2016, which takes place January 30 through March 4 on the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick. The festival marks its 34th anniversary with a lineup that includes new international films, American independent features, experimental and short subjects, classic revivals, and cutting-edge documentaries.
The festival is produced by the Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center in association with the Rutgers University Program In Cinema Studies. Films screened are part of the New Jersey Film Festival competition and were selected by a panel of judges including media professionals, journalists, students, and academics. These judges selected the 21 finalists which will be publicly screened at our Festival. The finalists were selected from over 303 works submitted by filmmakers from around the world. In addition, the judges will choose the Prize Winners in conjunction with the Festival Director. Prize winners will be announced after the screenings on Sunday, February 27, 2016.

Saturday, January 30 -- Pitter Patter Goes My Heart by Christoph Rainer (Klosterneuberg, Austria) and In The Dark by David Spaltro (New York, New York). Both directors will be on hand to provide an introduction prior to a film and a question and answer section afterwards.
Sunday, January 31 -- Two Years by Lauren Hall (Brooklyn, New York) and After Sandy by Joe Minnella (Howell, New Jersey). Both directors will be on hand to provide an introduction prior to a film and a question and answer section afterwards.
Friday, February 5 -- Crepusculo (Twilight) by Juan Pablo Daranas (Havana, Cuba) and In The Game by Maria Finitzo (Chicago, Illinois).
Saturday, February 6 -- Tourists by Shaun Seneviratne (Brooklyn, New York), Through the Uncanny Valley by Pasquale M. Greco (Vancouver, Canada), and Echo Lake by Jody McVeigh-Schultz (Los Angeles, California). Director Shaun Seneviratne (Tourists) will provide an introduction prior to his film and a question and answer section afterwards.
Friday, February 12 -- Tiny Town by Howard Cook (Denver, Colorado), The Shadow Forest by Andrzej Cichocki (Dolna Grupa, Poland), and Backwater by Jonathan Cohrs (Brooklyn, New York).
Saturday, February 13 - Cops and Robbers by Marco Ragozzino (Los Angeles, California), Simon by Camille de Galbert (New York, New York), Jakob by Eymeric Jorat (Lyon, France), Starman by Josema Roig (Los Angeles, California), and Sound of Her by Charlie Alberto, IV (Jersey City, New Jersey). Directors Camille de Galbert (Simon) and Charlie Alberto, IV (Sound of Her) will be on hand to provide an introduction prior to a film and a question and answer section afterwards.

All screenings begin at 7:00 PM and are shown in Voorhees Hall #105 (Near the corner of George Street and Hamilton Street), 71 Hamilton Street/College Avenue Campus, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Films are screened in the order listed with a brief intermission between films for double and multiple-bills. Jimmy John’s of New Brunswick will be providing free sandwiches prior to all film screenings. Free parking is available in Rutgers University lots near the screening space.
