NJPAC Presents Gilbert Gottfried

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents Gilbert Gottfried. Gilbert Gottfried, the outspoken comedian known equally for voicing animated kids’ characters and for testing the boundaries of good taste, presents an evening of standup featuring his signature brand of irreverent, foul-mouthed hilarity on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 8PM.

Outspoken, outrageous and occasionally offensive, Gilbert Gottfried has been beloved as a “comedian’s comedian” for more than 30 years. Gottfried is known for his squinty, shouting comedic persona and for lending his unmistakable voice to a host of animated characters, including the parrot Iago in Disney’s Aladdin. His standup routine is not for the kids, though: Gottfried’s irreverent humor tests the boundaries of good taste, and he delivers what just might be the world’s dirtiest jokes. (For a hint of what to expect, Google “Gilbert Gottfried Aristocrats joke.”)

Gottfried is the author of Rubber Balls and Liquor, a mix of memoir and observational humor, and host of Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast.

NJPAC is located at 1 Center Street in Newark, NJ.  For more information visit www.njpac.org

About Gilbert Gottfried

Born in Brooklyn, Gilbert Gottfried began doing stand-up comedy at the young age of 15. After spending several years mastering the art of stand-up comedy, producers of "Saturday Night Live" hired him in 1980. A few years later MTV hired him for a series of promos and this led to appearances on "The Cosby Show" and "Late Night with David Letterman." Further leading to roles in numerous films including; "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Problem Child” (I and II), "Look Who's Talking II" and "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane." He was the host of "USA Up All Night." He is most known as the wise cracking parrot, IAGO, in the Disney classic "Aladdin," the frustrated duck in the AFLAC Insurance commercials and the voice of DIGIT in the PBS Series "Cyberchase.” He can be heard on the Comedy Central series, "The Annoying Orange" and as the voice of the horse on "Family Guy." Gottfried appeared numerous Comedy Central Roasts and the Comedy Central series, "The Burn with Jeff Ross." Gottfried's viral video reading of "Fifty Shades of Grey" (College Humor) received over 4 million views on YouTube. Gilbert is a frequent guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Howard Stern Show." He has had a recurring role on "Law and Order" SVU as Leo Gerber and appeared in the hit comedy documentary "The Aristocrats.” “Rubber Balls and Liquor” is Gilbert Gottfried's hilarious first-ever book and “Gilbert Gottfried Dirty Jokes,” features 50 non-stop minutes of Gottfried telling the funniest and filthiest jokes ever. As a famed comic’s comic, Gottfried puts aside political correctness for his live performance and fires an onslaught of jokes that know no boundaries.
