The Charlie Hunter Trio Comes To McLoone's Supper Club

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Charlie Hunter Trio comes to McLoone's Supper Club on Friday, October 16. Hunter is an American guitar master and composer whose unique style and technique encompasses jazz to funk to fusion.  His current trio includes trombone master Curtis Fowles and drum maestro Bobby Previte who have worked together in Jazz Passengers, Lounge Lizards, Omaha Diner and with musicians such as John Medeski and Marco Benevento.

While in high school, Hunter studied with Joe Satriani and first came to prominence in the early 1990s with Michael Franti’s Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. Hunter has since recorded 17 albums and has been involved in projects with the likes of Christian Mcbride, Les Claypool and Galactic’s Stanton Moore to name just a few.

Hunter plays custom-made seven and eight-string guitars, on which he simultaneously plays bass lines, rhythm, and solos. Critic Sean Westergaard describes Hunter's guitar technique as "mind-boggling...he's an agile improviser with an ear for great tone, and always has excellent players alongside him.” They are touring on the release of their new album of “greasy originals” Let The Bells Ring On.

Tickets range from $17.50 - $25.  Doors open at 6:00pm, the show begins at 8:30pm.

McLoon's Supper Club is located at 1200 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ.  For more information visit www.timmcloonessupperclub.com
