Verismo Opera's Bring the Family to the Opera Program Resumes September 10

(FORT LEE, NJ) -- Introducing children and the extended family to live, fully staged performances of grand opera, as the composer intended,  is the mission of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera’s Bring the Family to the Opera program.  On September 10, 2015, the program resumes its special ticket rates for children, senior citizens, and individuals to see and enjoy the new production Lucia di Lammermoor on Sunday, October 18 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), located at 30 North Van Brunt Street, in Englewood, New Jersey.

Introducing a new generation to the splendors of grand opera is the program's goal. “Verismo Opera is proud to offer once again the Bring the Family to the Opera program's special ticket offer.  This program provides parents with an opportunity to introduce their children to live opera presented on the stage with the cast in period costumes singing with a live orchestra under the direction of Maestro Anthony Morss.  As the house opera company of bergenPAC, we want children and their families to enjoy and experience high quality operatic performances that are affordable,” said Lucine Amara, Artistic Director.

The Bring the Family to the Opera program seeks to instill children and their extended families with an appreciation of opera and classical music.  The company's new production replete with full sets will entertain the audience with live singing performed by principal vocalists and the Verismo Opera Chorus and the Verismo Opera orchestra.
