Renoir Donation at Stone Harbor Exhibit To Support Diller Blind Home

originally published: 08/19/2015

(STONE HARBOR, NJ) -- AlexAlexandre Renoirandre Renoir has been blessed with many gifts in his lifetime, including his genetic aptitude for painting magnificent artwork, a well-traveled life surrounded by art and artists, and, most recently, with a lovely wife, whom he married in Hawaii this month.  When he visits Ocean Galleries for a Labor Day weekend exhibition, Alexandre Renoir will be giving back to the community that has welcomed him for the past 10+ years with a painting donation for the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children in Avalon, NJ.

Throughout his weekend visit to Ocean Galleries (9618 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor), the talented artist will be working on a special painting created specifically for the Diller Blind Home.  His exhibit, “Renoir: Modern Day Impressionism,” opens on Friday, September 4 and runs through Monday, September 7, 2015 at Ocean Galleries  Guests will have the opportunity to meet Alexandre Renoir and watch him at his craft during gallery receptions from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6.

“Several years ago, we started what has now become a tradition where I actually paint during my gallery show in Stone Harbor.  For the past several shows at Ocean Galleries, we have donated the creation to the Diller Blind Home to help raise funds for this important regional charity,” explained Renoir.  “I am very grateful that the New Jersey shore communities have welcomed me for the past 10 years – this is just my small way of giving back to them.”

This year’s painting donation for the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children will have a sunset theme and will be custom-framed by Ocean Galleries.  The painting donation will be part of the auction at the organization’s fifth annual Barefoot Ball being held Saturday, September 12 at The Windrift Hotel in Avalon, NJ.  For the past two years, Alexandre painted artwork with a Lighthouse theme, raising $12,000 for the organization.

“We are very grateful to Alexandre and Ocean Galleries for their generous donations over the past several years and are looking forward to seeing this year’s masterpiece,” said Anne Coskey, Development Director for the Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children.  Since 1972, blind and visually impaired children have been enjoying an all-expense-paid one-week summer vacation at the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children in Avalon, NJ through the support of generous donors.  “We rely on the support of our benefactors who make it possible for each camper to enjoy a summer vacation at no cost to their families.”

"Renoir: Modern Day Impressionism” will be at Ocean Galleries (9618 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ) from Friday, September 4 through Monday September 7, 2015.  Meet Alexandre Renoir at receptions from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6.  Gallery hours for the exhibit are 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM Friday through Sunday, and 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Monday.  The exhibition and all receptions are free, with all artwork available for acquisition.
