Dead on Live: 71-72

Based on their unique approach of recreating, literally note for note all instruments including the lush vocal harmonies as heard on the classic recordings of the 70’s, DOL has quickly become recognized nationally as one of the top acts to pay tribute to the music of the American treasure known as the Grateful Dead.

Dead On Live’s Bergen County debut at the Bergen PAC will feature the music from the beloved “live” era releases of 1971-1972, featuring favorites from “Skull and Roses”, Jerry’s 1st solo effort “Garcia”, the classic and revered “Europe 72” and more from Bob Weir’s 1st solo effort “Ace”. Songs such as “Wharf Rat”, “The Wheel”, “China Cat Sunflower/I Know You Rider” (In its entirety!), “Mexicali Blues” and “One More Saturday Night” will be performed as they were recorded, all instruments and vocals.

Multi-instrumentalist, touring and recording veteran, Marc Muller (Shania Twain, Tommy Shaw, Bruce Springsteen) has assembled a cast of world class musicians featuring Zen Trickster and Bob Weir “Ace” Tom Circosta, Keith clone John Pittas, and Paul Avrutin tackling the rootless syncopation of Phil’s bass.  Special guests are sure to be stopping by to join in the fun, as there’s always lots of good old, Dead-inspired jamming to be had in every show. With much “deadication” these musicians come together to present their truly unique, note-for-note offering, performing the music of the Dead, absolutely “Dead On – live”!

Following his summer co-headlining run with American rock legends Cheap Trick, Peter Frampton is back on the road, this time performing an acoustic only set for the first time ever. Gordon Kennedy, Frampton’s longtime collaborator and co-producer of his Grammy Award-winning album Fingerprints, will join him on tour as well as an added special guest, Frampton’s son, singer and guitarist Julian Frampton.

Peter Frampton remains one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. At 16, he was lead singer and guitarist for British band the Herd. At 18, he co-founded one of the first super groups, seminal rock act Humble Pie. His session work includes collaborations with such legendary artists as George Harrison, Harry Nilsson, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, John Entwistle and many others. His fifth solo album, the electrifying Frampton Comes Alive!, is one of the top-selling live records of all time.

Madeleine Peyroux

Sixteen years after her Dreamland debut, it is not hard to see why Madeleine Peyroux’s genre defying blend of jazz and pop continues to enthrall the music world.  Through six universally praised albums ‘Jazz’s brightest star’ has gained a reputation for an impeccable choice of material, creating a genuine buzz of anticipation amongst fans and the industry at large.

The free spirited singer, songwriter and guitarist began her musical adventure as a teenager in Paris, when ‘drawn to the music of the streets’, the 15 year old left high school and joined a touring blues and jazz band. ‘Someone gave me early Columbia recordings with Billie Holiday and instructed me to learn the songs'.

Years later, her undeniable talent was spotted at a New York club by Atlantic Records’ Yves Beauvais who signed her to the label and co-produced her 1996 debut album Dreamland. Peyroux’s dreamily husky voice enchanted punters and critics alike but it was the 2004 Careless Love that proved to be a milestone release for the artist, bringing mainstream recognition and marking the start of a prolific collaboration with producer Larry Klein. Peyroux has come a long way from the streets of Paris to the word’s grandest concert halls and collaborating with the some of the world’s finest musicians.
