(LEONIA, NJ) -- The Players Guild of Leonia presents The Importance of Being Earnest, Written by Oscar Wilde and directed by Helene Marshall. Critics and scholars regard Oscar Wilde’s play as one of the wittiest ever written, and it remains today one of theater’s most perfectly created comedies. Performances run May 1st through May 17 at The Civil War Drill Hall Theater, 130 Grand Avenue, Leonia, NJ.
This hilarious play makes elegant fun out of mistaken identities and sexual warfare in the story of two young men who decide to put some excitement in their lives. They complicate matters by inventing imaginary characters to help them escape their tedious obligations. Things get twisted when they end up together in the country and their deceptions are discovered..Performances May 1st thru May 17th, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm at The Civil War Drill Hall Theater, 130 Grand Avenue, Leonia. Tickets are $20, $18 seniors and students. Call 201-947-9606 or visit www.leoniaplayers.org for reservations and information.
